Meet Emma Louise Evans, a 34-year-old British woman and a
die hard fan of Nigerian music duo PSquare.
The professional babysitter who has a special attraction to
Nigerian men confessed to taking part in a sham marriage at
Burnley Crown Court yesterday.
Louise said she married one Kazeem Kolade in July 2012 in
order to help him to stay legally in the UK but in January 2013,
she met the love of her life, another Nigerian man identified as
Stephen Akinseye.
The court heard defence counsel Mark Stuart was able to produce a
divorce certificate, after making inquiries with the Nigerian High
Commission, to prove that the first ‘wedding’ had been annulled.
Louise is still legally married to 45-year-old Stephen Akinseye.
The court was not told of the whereabouts of Kolade.
Prosecutors have accepted her 2nd marriage and have dropped
the 2nd sham marriage allegation.
