No Biafra; Nopeace – Pro-Biafra Protesters
No security men on ground - Eyewitness
Pro-Biafra protesters numbering over 3,000 have seized the popular Ontisha bridge which linked Anambra and Delta State. They currently barricade the bridge, holding motorists to a standstill in the last 9 hours.
According to a passenger in the heavy traffic logjam caused by the protest, the protesters have vowed to halt traffic for the next five days if Director of Radio Biafra and Leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu is not released by the Department of State Service, DSS.
The source said the protesters are chanting war song such as “no Biafra; no Peace and demanding the creation of Biafra State.
At the time of filing this report, it was learnt there is no security presence at the scene of the blockade. “There are no security men at all right now but i got a report that some policemen men deployed to attend to the situation are also stuck in this traffic with their vans”, our source said.
It was gathered that economic activities in the city were crippled even as some women supply food and water for the protesters.
